Coping up with the new normal – Sunday Reflection 5

How are you coping up with today’s new normal?

I did my weekly groceries this morning and I observed that unlike the past weeks there are more people outside now. Well, the quarantine has not been lifted yet so I’m pretty sure these people just went out to buy essentials and supplies.

But the necessary changes are pretty obvious. As I walked my way to downtown area (since Public Utility Vehicles are still prohibited), I took pictures of the things I observed.

I took this at McDonalds. Less than ten costumers are only allowed inside and there are hand sanitizers and temperature checkers at the doors. A meter distance (or at least minimum of that) per person are observed and there is a box (plastic ware?) for the payments and change.

This was when I bought my hygiene essentials. The music was fun and when I saw this I can’t stop thinking of Dance Dance Revolution. LOL. All these markings and signs can be seen in all establishments and I’m glad people are actually following and cooperating with these. That’s plus points for my hope in humanity scoreboard.

I’m pretty sure that the last time I saw this kind of properly executed distancing was during my graduation day. The yellow and black strip at the ground are the distancing marks. Also, people are obliged to wear masks and their quarantine ID pass before entering the grocery store. Everyone should also pass the temperature checker and sanitize their hand before and after they leave the building.

I can also say that people themselves are quite observant when it comes to the rules. Almost all the people I met at the road are wearing masks and IDs. Honestly, public places are more organized today than normal but the eerie feeling that the atmosphere brings is not making me that totally comfortable.

Finally for my two cents this week: discipline, compassion toward others and the right knowledge and information will definitely make us get through this challenging situation. So hang in there and believe. We might probably not get back to the old normal, but we can always be better.

GOOD NIGHT!

See you in the next reflection. ❀

By the way last night, I reached my 500 followers mark here in WordPress. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support!
